About
Nariya McCall Douglas is an actor, storyteller, and interdisciplinary artist born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. She is a descendant of people who have used oral tradition to remain whole through migration and displacement. With a performance background in dance, Nariya found acting later on in life and continued her curiosity and commitment to the craft in Bachelor’s of Fine Arts and Arts programs at Syracuse University and the University of Southern California. She has performed in mainstage productions at USC and directed, acted, and produced a production of John Proctor is the Villain.
After her courses at USC she completed a semester at the British American Drama Academy where her training in Shakespeare fostered a love for classical texts and heightened language and surprisingly, the freedom it can provide in bringing herself, no matter how removed from the texts, to the work.
Since graduating, she has collaborated with local Los Angeles Theatre companies from Center Theatre Group to Eight Ball Theatre Company as well as several short films and series. As she looks forward to expanding her career in TV, film, and stage, she puts an emphasis on humanizing black women and bringing their complexities to every frontier, namely the formidable and colorful ones that filled her life, her family, and her city.
Nariya is devoted to creating multidimensional characters that reflect her resilience, wisdom, comedic chops, and cool girl energy.

She is currently seeking theatrical and commercial representation.
